Resident Evil Requiem (2026)
Early access for BioRand in the latest chapter of the Resident Evil series.
The randomizer will be available on Friday 31 July. Use this page to prepare and make sure you have everything ready to go for release day.
Early Access
The BioRand randomizer for Resident Evil Requiem is currently available as an early access release. It is a browser-based cloud randomizer that generates your personalised seed online to download.
As an early access release, you may encounter some minor bugs forcing you to restart from a checkpoint, or worse case reseed.
Getting Access
A Ko-fi membership is required to generate seeds. This acts as a subscription that grants access to the randomizer.
Signing In
Go to re9.biorand.net and sign up for a new account. If you have previously generated seeds for RE2R or RE4R, you already have an account and can sign in with your existing credentials.
Connecting Your Ko-fi
Once signed in, click your avatar at the top right and select your user name from the dropdown. This takes you to your profile page. Click Ko-fi on the left navigation bar to view your active and recent Ko-fi donations.
If your donation does not appear, check that the email address on your Ko-fi account matches the email address registered on your re9.biorand.net profile. You can change your email on either side if they do not match (email changes require verification).
You can watch a video tutorial here.

Generating a Seed
Follow these steps to generate your first randomised playthrough:
- Sign in. Go to re9.biorand.net and sign in with your account. If you have not registered yet, sign up and connect your Ko-fi membership as described in the Early Access section above.
- Configure your settings. Use the web interface to customise which elements to randomise, adjust difficulty parameters, and fine-tune the experience to your preferences. Once you are ready, click Generate at the top.
- Generate your seed. The site will produce a unique configuration that can be shared as a QR code or alphanumeric code. Each seed offers a distinct playthrough.
- Download the files. Save the generated files to your computer and proceed to the installation section below.
Installation
Prerequisites: REFramework
Resident Evil Requiem requires REFramework to run the randomiser. Download the latest nightly build from the official REFramework releases page. The archive contains a single file, dinput.dll, which needs to be copied into your game installation directory.
To find your game installation directory in Steam, right-click Resident Evil Requiem, select Manage then Browse local files.
Method 1: Direct File Copy
- Download the randomiser files from your seed.
- Locate your Resident Evil Requiem installation directory.
- Important: If you have a previous version installed, delete the old natives folder from your game directory before continuing.
- Extract the randomiser files directly into the game folder. The archive contains natives and reframework folders which should merge with the existing ones.
- Launch the game.
Method 2: Fluffy Mod Manager
- Download the randomiser files from your seed.
- Open Fluffy Mod Manager and select Resident Evil Requiem as the active game.
- Drag and drop the randomiser archive into the manager window.
- Apply the mod and launch the game.
Gameplay Changes
The RE9 randomiser introduces a wide range of changes to both the game's structure and its mechanics. Below is a summary of what to expect.
Randomization
Doors
Nearly all doors are shuffled, opened, closed, locked and rotated, creating alternative routes through the game.
Keys and Key Items
Key items are redistributed throughout the game world. The randomiser ensures that all key items appear in locations accessible before the door or object requiring them, preventing softlocks.
Items
Item placements are randomised, with options to control the ratio of healing items, ammunition, and other supplies. A custom item pool mode replaces every pickup with a random item type and quantity.
Weapon Stats
Weapon parameters are randomised, affecting damage, fire rate, and other characteristics.
Charms
New charm effects have been added and shuffled.
Puzzles
Puzzle solutions are randomised, requiring you to discover new combinations and approaches.
Subtitles
Subtitle text is randomised, providing unexpected and often humorous dialogue. For the best comedic effect, change your voice language in the game's options menu to a language you do not understand, as shown below.
Enemies
Enemy types and placements are randomised, making encounters unpredictable, plentiful and harder to avoid. Difficulty settings control the likelihood of encountering easier or more dangerous foes.
Gameplay Tweaks
Additional Weapons for Grace
Leon has donated some of his weapons to Grace, expanding her combat options significantly.
Freya's Needle
This item now functions as an SMG, providing a new ranged option for Grace.
Grace Sprint

Grace Dodge
A dodge mechanic has been added for Grace. It works similarly to Leon's parry but with an evasive focus, allowing her to avoid incoming attacks.

Grace now starts with the same health pool as Leon, providing greater survivability from the outset.
Reworked Injectors
Grace's injector mechanics have been reworked for enhanced gameplay variety. The new formula comes with significantly more Elpis, offering fresh tactical options.

Improved Character Movement
Movement responsiveness has been improved in third person for both characters, reducing inertia and making navigation feel more precise.
All Throwables
Leon and Grace have access to each other's throwable items, effectively doubling their tactical options in combat.
Expanded Grace Inventory

Mr. X and Marie Adjustments
Wince values and down timers have been adjusted for both Mr. X and Marie, making these persistent threats more manageable during a run.

New spawn points have been added throughout the game, and several areas have been redesigned to improve gameplay flow and variety.
Melee Enhancements
Melee damage has been increased and parrying durability loss has been reduced, rewarding skilled play and aggressive tactics.
